Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said Friday that he is no longer aligned with the Future of Life Institute (FLI), an organization that previously received Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens from him in 2021. Buterin explained that the institute's direction has shifted since the donation was made. According to him, the organization's current focus differs from the broader strategy originally presented when he supported the group. The Future of Life Institute had received the tokens during a period when developers sent large quantities of meme coins, including SHIB and other dog-themed tokens, to Buterin's wallet. Some projects used his public wallet address as part of their marketing campaigns. Buterin later redirected portions of those tokens to charities and research organizations.
